A response to Strawberry Almond Milk Ice Cream with Chopped Almonds
As an un-churned base, I found the taste lacking. The strawberry came across as too delicate, so I added extra honey and lemon juice, which strengthened the flavor, especially after chilling. I was worried how it would taste after churning.
Luckily, as it frequently happens, freezing brought out the flavors, even if it dulled the sweetness slightly. Definitely a success, though I’d play around with more egg yolks and maybe cornstarch next time, in an effort to improve the texture.
